The lovely village of Pisticci is located on top of a hill, few minutes from the clear waters of the ionian sea, just between the regions of Puglia and Calabria.
The region is sunny most of the time, temperatures are generally cosy but you can still see a little bit of snow in Januray or February in the mountains....
According to the famous designers Dolce & Gabana, who own a house in the village, the best occupation in the region is... discover and enjoy the local food!
Shopping is always a nice occupation... You will find many artisanal stores around the region. Grottaglie, for example, is a city dedicated to the fabrication of traditional ceramics.
Every Saturday and Sunday, you can find several antique markets in the villages. (ask us for the schedule)
Visit the wineyard of masseria Cardillo, and taste its fantastic wines... just 15 mn from your house.
Visit Matera and the sassi (35 minutes from Pisticci)

Craco is an interesting place to visit. It is an abandonned village where many historical movies were shot. There are guided tours every hour, you can book directly there.
The old city of Pisticci is also very pittoresque with a fantastic view.
Another lively place is Bernalda, just 20 mn drive with a beatiful country road, you can see the house of Francis Ford Coppola. The city is full of bars and restaurants.
In Metapunto you can also visit the Archeological park and museum. Metapunto used to be a big city during the greek colonisation.
Puglia is just 30 minutes from your house. You can plan a trip to Bari, Ostuni, Brindisi, the beatiful city of Lecce, the turquoise beaches of south puglia...
Calabria is 1.30h from your house, you can also visit Napoli, Pompei, Salerno, Sorrento...
